Uncharted movie pushed back to February 2022

Uncharted fans have been waiting for the movie version of the game for more than a decade, and it looks like we’ll have to wait at least another year.

Uncharted, starring Tom Holland as Nathan Drake and Mark Wahlberg as Sully, was initially scheduled for release on July 16, 2021, now that date has been moved back to February 11, 2022, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Sony Pictures’ shifting in schedules is in response to the ongoing pandemic and whether theaters will open soon enough. Uncharted had planned both standard theater and IMAX theater openings.

Other movies that are seeing a delay include the comic book movie Morbius, starring Jared Leto, moving from October to January 21, 2022, and Ghostbusters: Afterlife, moving from June 11, 2021, to November 11, 2021.

As previously reported, the movie was filmed in 2020 and is currently in post-production. The movie’s official Twitter account shared images from the set just a few weeks ago.
