Star Wars Battlefront’s season pass is free for a limited time

The November release of Star Wars Battlefront II is approaching rapidly, but Electronic Arts and DICE clearly want to give the original Star Wars Battlefront one last hurrah since they have made the game’s season pass entirely free as part of a limited-time promotion.

EA hasn’t disclosed exactly when the promotion will end, but while it’s active Star Wars Battlefront players on PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4 can nab the season pass for the low, low cost of zero dollars and zero cents. The season pass grants access to four different expansion packs, each of which includes new multiplayer maps, playable heroes and villains, game modes, gear, Star Cards, and more.

Interestingly enough, Star Wars Battlefront II (which is scheduled to arrive on November 17) won’t have a season pass at all (EA has said in the past that giving Star Wars Battlefront a season pass wasn’t the best call since its inclusion of paid DLC maps fragmented the game’s multiplayer community). Instead, all of the sequel’s DLC characters, game modes, and maps will be free, though a microtransaction system will be in place for those who want to pay real money to unlock content more quickly.
