Stadia finally allows the use of cellphone data

When Stadia launched back in November, to use the platform on your Android phone, you had to always be connected to a Wi-Fi network. Now the platform is slowly moving toward allowing gamers to use their cell phone data to play games.

On the official Stadia blog, the company announced 4G and 5G support has launched on the mobile app. Players can opt-in by opening the app, selecting their avatar, then selecting Experiments, and turning on mobile data.

We tried playing Destiny 2 on LTE (Sprint Network) on a Pixel 3 and it worked pretty well. There’s was one moment where there was a bit of freezing, but for the 20-25 minutes we were playing a public event on Titan, most of it went pretty smooth.

Now if they can bring Stadia to iPhone.
