Sony reschedules PlayStation 5 event for June 11

Originally scheduled to happen last week on June 4, Sony announced its PlayStation 5 digital event is now scheduled for this Thursday, June 11 at 1 pm PST on its digital and social channels. PlayStation’s senior director, SIE content communications, Sid Shuman, made the announcement on the PlayStation blog. Shuman thanked PlayStation fans for their patience while the company stepped aside “so key voices could be heard during this historic and important time.”

Shuman also added that the program is pre-taped and will be broadcast at 1080p at 3o frames per second.

“This eased the show’s production process during a time when many of our team and developers are working from home,” he said. “The games you’ll see on Thursday will look even better when you play them on PS5 with a 4K TV, as you’d expect.”

Shuman also suggested that everyone watch the broadcast with headphones since there is some cool audio work during the broadcast that might get lost in the sound of laptop or cell phone speakers.
