Sega announces Game Gear Micro in Japan

There’s a bit of a boom for mini-retro gaming consoles like Nintendo’s NES mini and SNES mini, and Sony’s PlayStation Classic. The excitement for the old school continues as Sega has announced its Game Gear Micro in Japan. Sega has previously released a Genesis Mini, but these new micro handhelds bring back the essence of Sega’s Game Gear, which was originally released in the early 1990s to compete with Nintendo’s Game Boy.

Slated to hit the Japanese market on October 6, there will be four different consoles, each a different color and with different games. Each console will cost 4,980 yen (about $45). There's no word on when or if the micro consoles will come to the United States. Check out the list of games for each console:
