The second season of Netflix’s Castlevania series gets a trailer and release date

Last year, Netflix released the first season of its Castlevania animated series, a series which proved to be so popular that the only major gripe fans had with it was that it was so short, spanning a mere four episodes in total. For the show’s second season, Netflix has doubled the number of episodes, which means viewers will have eight episodes in total to look forward to when the sophomore season premiers this upcoming October.

A new trailer for the second season (which you can watch above) confirms an October 26 premiere date while also teasing viewers with some footage from the second season’s new episodes. The second season will pick up right where the first season left off, with Trevor Belmont, the last surviving member of the Belmont clan of vampire hunters, teaming up with a new series of allies against the vampire lord Vlad Dracula Tepes.

As you’ll see in the teaser trailer, the Castlevania animated series is quite violent, thought it also hews closely to the same story beats that are present in games like Castlevania III: Dracula’s Curse and the more widely known Castlevania: Symphony of the Night.
