A Plague Tale: Innocence comes to light on May 14

If you’re afraid of rats, this is not the game for you.

A Plague Tale: Innocence is the upcoming original IP from Asobo Studio and Focus Home Interactive, and will be released in a few weeks, on May 14.

The premise of this debut game is a unique one. You’ll play as siblings Amicia and Hugo as they struggle to survive in medieval, plague-ravaged France. In this world, swarms of rats fill every dark space, and threaten to consume any human (friend, or foe) that crosses their path. These legions of rodents can only be held at bay with light, which makes for some interesting puzzle solving and survival elements.

As you can see in the gameplay footage, exploration and crafting will be important to survival, as well as using the rats to take down your opponents as well as avoiding them yourself. If you weren’t afraid of these creatures before, this game might change that.

We’re looking forward to trying it out for ourselves soon, and will keep you posted with any impressions.  A Plague Tale: Innocence is scheduled for release on May 14th, on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
