Physical Nintendo Switch Resident Evil Revelations copies won’t come to Europe
Tomorrow, both Resident Evil Revelations and its sequel Resident Evil Revelations 2 will launch for the Nintendo Switch, but if you’re a European gamer who was hoping to snag a physical copy of the release, publisher Capcom has some bad news for you.
In a recent statement it sent to Nintendo Life, Capcom confirmed that the physical release of the Resident Evil Revelations collection will be restricted to North America since it wouldn’t be economically feasible to also do a physical release in Europe:
“Capcom has to take various factors into account when deciding what format to deliver our titles to our fans. These can include but are not limited to overall production costs, manufacturing times, distribution, and first party regulations. In the case of Resident Evil Revelations, we've found that unfortunately it's not viable for Capcom Europe to create a physical version of the title on Nintendo Switch for our territories, however we will be making this available as a digital release.”
It’s also important to note that even the North American physical release won’t offer a fully physical experience. While the original Resident Evil Revelations will be available on a disc, Resident Evil Revelations 2 will need to be downloaded using a code that’s included in the physical package. Both games will also be available digitally via the Nintendo eShop.
