New Mass Effect: Andromeda developer video is all about combat
BioWare is releasing a new series of videos for Mass Effect: Andromeda which focus on specific gameplay elements with the first video putting an emphasis on the many different combat options players will have.
Combat in Andromeda will be a lot more dynamic and fluid than it was in past Mass Effect games, both in terms of how you can navigate the battlefield and how you can customize your character’s loadout to suite your specific tastes. In Andromeda, you’re no longer bound to a single character class which means you can freely invest in any one of the game’s three power-based skill trees (combat, biotics, and tech) to create a customized loadout of powers and passive abilities.
As for weaponry, players can equip assault rifles, sniper rifles, shotguns, and pistols, each of which functions differently based on which of the game’s three weapon manufacturers it comes from. There’s also a large selection of different melee weapons which can be equipped too, with different melee weapon types having different advantages and disadvantages. For example, hammers are slow but pack a punch, while swords do less damage but are much faster.
