Neon Apocalypse Build Giveaway
UPDATE: The sweepstakes is now over! We have contacted our winner: Brian Palmer (AKA Green Chicken Nugget)!
Thanks to all who entered!
Combining bright lights, vibrant colors, rusted metal, and powerful hardware, we put together a gaming machine fit for the wasteland. This custom build takes inspiration from games like Rage 2 and Borderlands 3, offering up a more colorful interpretation of the apocalypse.
We started with with the Crystal Series 570x case from Corsair, and decked it out with custom metal panels that were designed with CAD software, then cut to our specifications. We then treated the metal with a solution of hydrogen peroxide, vinegar, and salt to get that “end of the world” look.
We have two liquid cooling loops we put together with EK gear from Newegg and directly from EKWB. We used yellow coolant for the Intel i5-9600K CPU cooling loop, and Electric Purple coolant to keep our ASUS Strix 2070 GPU running at optimal temperatures.
We went with Corsair’s LL Series RGB fans to keep the case temps low, as well as Vengeance RGB RAM, and a 750 watt modular power supply also from Corsair. To add an extra splash of color, we manually sleeved our own power cables.
Add to that a high-end Elgato capture card and plenty of high-speed Intel Optane storage, and you’re looking at a build that can handle anything the post-apocalypse can throw at it.
