Mortal Kombat animated film announced
While the live action Mortal Kombat film is currently in production and set to release in January 2021, Warner Bros. Animation has something to hold fans over until then.
According to the Hollywood Reporter, Mortal Kombat Legends: Scorpion’s Revenge, an animated film, will launch in the first half of 2020. The film will star Joel McHale as the voice of Johnny Cage and Jennifer Carpenter (Dexter) as the voice of Sonya Blade.
Ed Boon, the creator of the Mortal Kombat franchise and creative consultant on the film, tweeted, “We've been sitting on this news for quite a while & are thrilled to announce the upcoming Mortal Kombat Animated feature! Scheduled for the first half of 2020 and its BRUTAL!”
There’s no word on what story the film will follow or what platforms the film will come out on, but we wouldn’t be surprised if it’s on the Warner Bros-owned DC Universe platform.
