Mass Effect: Andromeda’s multiplayer will get Platinum difficulty and playable Batarians
Fans of Mass Effect: Andromeda recently had to face the sobering news that the game likely won’t be getting any single-player DLC, but the silver lining is that its co-op multiplayer component will be getting at least one major expansion in the form of a new difficulty tier and playable race.
Developer BioWare confirmed the upcoming release of the Platinum difficulty tier in a recent post on its Twitter page. Within the post, a teaser trailer was also embedded, hinting that, in addition to the Platinum difficulty, playable Batarians will also be coming to Andromeda’s multiplayer. The addition of Platinum difficulty isn’t surprising since it was also eventually added to Mass Effect 3’s multiplayer, but the inclusion of playable Batarians is surprising since they were one of several original trilogy races (along with Quarians, Drell, Volus, and others) that didn’t appear at all in Andromeda’s story campaign.
A timeframe for when the Platinum difficulty and Batarians will arrive hasn’t yet been confirmed, but it will likely be at some point in the next several weeks. You can watch the teaser trailer below.
