LG has developed a 65-inch OLED screen you can roll up like a newspaper

OLED (organic light-emitting diode) displays are the next exciting thing in monitor and TV tech because of their remarkable color accuracy and how thin and flexible they can be.

At CES 2018 LG is showing off their newest rollable display (think rolling your TV up like a newspaper), and it’s a doozy. This experimental display is now up to 65 inches, and is packing UHD and 4K resolutions.

A screen that is thin and flexible enough to roll up, while still retaining excellent color accuracy, is exciting for a variety of reasons, not least of which is its hypothetical portability. Being able to roll up your 65-inch display and pack it in a suitcase is a fascinating prospect. We’re not quite there yet, but the fact these OLED displays are growing so dramatically in size is an exciting taste of things to come.

There’s not much known about this new OLED screen yet, but we’re itching to learn more at CES 2018, so keep your eyes right here for more LG news.
