LG’s ThinQ smart fridge is upgrading your kitchen
Looks like your fridge is about to get an upgrade.
Though touch screens and translucent displays on refrigerators are nothing new, we’ve never seen anything quite like this. This year at CES 2018, LG is revealing their InstaView ThinQ smart refrigerator, an appliance with a 29-inch touchscreen that allows you to use LG’s webOS and Amazon’s Alexa to help manage your refrigerators inventory.
If you’re out and about, there’s a panoramic camera inside that allows you to see what you need to pick up, or just make sure your condiments aren’t misbehaving.
It will also be able to communicate with other ThinQ enabled LG products, meaning your appliances can talk to each other. Potentially a little creepy, but there’s some pretty serious positive implications too.
Think about your fridge communicating with your smartphone to send potential cookable recipes, and then informing with your smart dishwasher to prepare the appropriate dishwashing cycle.
If you want the kitchen of the future, it looks like LG will be delivering just that.
There’s no pricing on the InstaView ThinQ refrigerator or any of LG’s other smart appliances yet, but we’ll keep you posted as we learn more.
