Jack Black will be voicing Claptrap in the Borderlands movie
The cast continues to be rounded out for the upcoming Borderlands movie. Jack Black (Kung Fu Panda, Jumanji reboot) is the latest actor to join the cast and will be voicing the wise-cracking robot, Claptrap, according to Variety.
In the Borderlands game, Claptrap serves as a guide and help to the main character, usually leading them places or alerting them to oncoming dangers. In the early games, gamers were annoyed by the character, but in the later years, the robot has been embraced by fans.
Black joins Cate Blanchett (Lilith), Kevin Hart (Roland), and Jamie Lee Curtis (Patricia Tannis) in the movie.
There’s no word on when shooting will begin, but the film is being directed by Eli Roth (Hostel, Cabin Fever) and was written by Craig Mazin (Chernobyl, HBO’s The Last of Us).
