Injustice 2 prequel comic debuts in April

NetherRealm’s upcoming sequel Injustice 2 isn’t set to arrive until May, but Injustice fans who are eager to get in on the action early will be able to do so courtesy of the game’s prequel comic which is set to begin its run a month earlier in April.

The original Injustice: Gods Among Us also had a prequel tie-in comic and the comic proved to be so popular thanks to its stellar writing and excellent use of pretty much the entire breadth of DC lore that it wound up going on for several years after the game’s release (and it still has two final volumes set to come out in February and June). In case you don’t know, the comic fills the five-year gap between the beginning of the game’s events and the catalyst for the entire Injustice storyline: the murder of Lois Lane and Superman’s unborn child at the hands of the Joker.

The Injustice 2 prequel comic will take a similar approach, telling the story of what happens during the five-year period between the end of the first game and the beginning of the sequel. The first issue of the Injustice 2 prequel comic will be released on April 11 and new issues will arrive every week after that. The Injustice 2 game, meanwhile, will launch on May 16 for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC.
