Injustice 2’s super moves have a hidden interactive element
Successfully pulling off a super move in Injustice 2 is a great way to score a decent amount of free damage on your opponent and even potentially end the match outright if the enemy fighter’s health is already pretty low. However, as players have recently discovered, there is a way for both the attacking and defending player to influence the amount of damage inflicted by the super move in real time.
It turns out that if a player presses the Heavy Attack button on their controller (A for Xbox One, X for PlayStation 4) in time with each hit of a super move attack, they’ll either increase or decrease the damage dealt depending on whether they’re the attacker or the defender. You can tell whether the timing of your button presses is on point since a small crossed swords icon (for attackers) or shield icon (for defenders) will appear below your character’s health bar. The amount of damage that can be increased or decreased in this manner isn’t much, but it could mean the difference between victory and defeat, especially if you know about it and your opponent doesn’t.
Injustice 2 is available now on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
