Hitman 2: How to complete The Prince Elusive Target
Another Legacy Elusive Target has shown up in Hitman 2, giving players an opportunity to unlock the exclusive Elusive Target suit for the game’s Sapienza location. The Prince has entered Agent 47’s crosshairs, and he’ll remain there for the next nine days. In this guide, we detail a safe and reliable method for eliminating The Prince and making a clean getaway.
Preparing for The Prince
During the mission setup phase there are a few essential tools you’ll want to equip. If you’ve played the Sapienza legacy location before, chances are you already have the ICA Safe House starting location and ICA Safe House smuggled item location unlocked (they’re both early unlocks in the Sapienza Mastery track).
For your starting inventory you’ll want to equip the Coin, a lethal poison syringe (technically not required, but needed for a Silent Assassin rating), and any pistol (doesn’t matter which one). You should also set any lockpick as your ICA Safe House smuggled item so you can immediately retrieve it upon starting the mission. Once you’re ready, set the ICA Safe House as your starting location and start the mission.
Finding The Prince
When the mission begins, grab your lockpick from the ICA briefcase on the floor in the safe house and then exit through the southern door out onto an upper balcony. Straight ahead of you is an open portion of railing with a pipe you can slide down. Head down the pipe and proceed through the door that’s immediately to your left as you’re facing the pipe.
Go down the stairs and you’ll reach another door. If you use Instinct, you’ll notice two of The Prince’s security detail standing just outside the door. Open the door and position yourself so that you can throw a coin that lands inside the room you’re standing in (as per the above screenshot). As long as the door is open, one of the guards will come to investigate. When the guard enters the room looking for the coin, close the door and subdue him.
Drag the guard’s unconscious body up the stairs a bit to ensure it isn’t discovered before taking his outfit as a disguise and retrieving both his gun and the coin you threw. Exit through the door the guard came through, avoid the other guard (since he can see through your disguise), and run over to the right towards the yellow church building. If you look over to the left as you’re facing the church, you’ll spot a lower entrance to the church which has two more guards covering it.
Fortunately, neither of these two new guards can see through your disguise. If you use Instinct again, you can spot The Prince patrolling around the church interior (he’s the one who has a permanent Enforcer guard escort). The lower door the two guards are covering is locked, and if you try to pick the lock with them watching they’ll go on alert. One of the guards wanders around a bit but the other usually remains rooted to his position.
Eventually, The Prince will come down to the Church basement, putting him on the same level as the locked door the two guards are watching. Under ideal circumstances, both guards will move away when this happens, allowing you to pick the lock with impunity. If one of the guards still remains, you can throw a coin to distract him and then pick the lock.
Enter the lower church room through the now unlocked door and move immediately to your left. Proceed through the door and then through another door to your right to find a large room containing a security tapes terminal.
Disable the terminal if you wish (there are no cameras to worry about) and, if there’s another priest wearing a hat, wait for him to go back upstairs. Then, drop either your starting pistol or the pistol you picked up from the subdued guard in the middle room connecting the security terminal room and the room you entered from the outside (where The Prince is now).
Ideally, when The Prince goes to head back upstairs, he’ll spot the dropped pistol and order his Enforcer escort to dispose of it. Now, the timing can be a bit tricky here, but you need to stand inside the security terminal room and again throw a coin while the door is open so that it lands inside that same room.
What you want to do is get The Prince to enter the security room alone as he investigates the coin. His Enforcer escort won’t be problem since he’s busy disposing of the pistol you dropped. Quickly close the door and dispatch The Prince as you see fit. If you’re going for Silent Assassin, use the lethal poison syringe on him. This ensures that, even if his body is discovered, your Silent Assassin rating will be preserved. If you don’t care about getting Silent Assassin you can either snap his neck or (if you still have it) shoot him with your silenced starter pistol.
Once The Prince is dead, exit the church through the door you lock-picked and then exit the mission via the nearby speedboat exit.
Successfully eliminating The Prince unlocks the ‘Italian Suit with Gloves’ outfit for Agent 47, a legacy carryover from the original Hitman. You won’t immediately get anything extra for earning the Silent Assassin rating, but it will be another mark towards the running total of Silent Assassin runs you need to unlock additional Elusive Target suits.
