Google Stadia is free for the next two months

If you’ve been wondering about Google’s gaming platform, Stadia, the company is giving you a chance to try it out for free. In a post on the Stadia News blog, Phil Harrison, vice president and GM of Google Stadia announced they’re giving anyone with a Gmail free access to Stadia Pro.

Stadia Pro gives members immediate access to nine free games, including GRID, Destiny 2: The Collection, and the Serious Sam Collection. You also have the option to buy full games at discounted rates with Stadia Pro. Any games you buy on Stadia, you’ll still be able to play on a PC or Mac through a Chrome browser, the Stadia mobile app or TV via Chromecast even if you decide to cancel Stadia Pro after the two month trial.

After the two-month trial ends, you’ll be charged $9.99 a month, but you can cancel at any time. Stadia Base is the free tier of Stadia, and any game purchased on the platform will still be accessible. There are currently 38 games available on Stadia. Here are the free games currently offered through Stadia Pro:

  • Destiny 2: The Collection
  • GRID
  • Gylt
  • SteamWorld Dig 2
  • SteamWorld Quest: Hand of Gilgamech
  • Serious Sam Collection
  • Spitlings
  • Stacks on Stacks (on Stacks)
  • Thumper
