Fable Legends will be free-to-play and offer a rotating selection of free heroes
Lionhead Studios has officially confirmed that its upcoming Xbox One and PC-exclusive 4 vs. 1 fantasy action game Fable Legends will be a free-to-play title and will offer a rotating selection of free heroes similar to MOBA games like League of Legends. Check out the announcement video:
Players will be able to download and play Fable Legends for free and they will always have access to a rotation selection of free heroes. The game will utilize two different forms of currency: silver, which can be earned by playing, and gold which can be purchased with real money. Players will be able to use both silver and gold to purchase permanent access to their favorite heroes as well as customization options (some of which will only be available for gold). Players who prefer to play as the villainous dungeon master will be able to purchase new traps and monster types with which they can attempt to thwart the efforts of the four hero players.
Fable Legends is still on track for a 2015 release date and Lionhead recently confirmed that the game will support cross-platform play between Xbox One and PC, meaning you’ll get to play with your friends no matter which platform you’re playing on.
