Ed Boon teases Injustice 2 Black Manta DLC
When NetherRealm offered a tease of upcoming DLC fighters for Injustice 2 via a series of shadow silhouettes, fans were quick to notice that one of the silhouettes looked a lot like Aquaman’s nemesis Black Manta, a theory which NetherRealm head Ed Boon recently led some credence to during a recent DC All Access interview.
In the below video interview, Boon mainly discusses the upcoming release of the iconic ice ninja Sub-Zero (who will be available to Injustice 2 Fighter Pack 1 owners starting tomorrow), talking about his unique character design for the DC fighting sequel and how he’ll function in a universe where he sadly cannot rip people’s spines out or punch their heads off their shoulders. When asked about upcoming DLC roster additions, however, Boon made a direct reference to the shadowy silhouette that is rumored to be Black Manta, though the NetherRealm head is also known for trolling fans in epic ways, so this could simply be Boon adding fuel to the misdirection fires.
Sub-Zero will become available to Injustice 2 Ultimate Edition and Fighter Pack 1 owners tomorrow, July 11, and will likely launch a week later as a standalone purchase. The third and final DLC fighter that will be included in Fighter Pack 1 (following Sub-Zero and the previously released Red Hood) will be Starfire.
