EA Sports reveals Madden 21 gameplay, August release date

After delaying the initial reveal of Madden 21, EA Sports shared a new trailer, shared some info on the new features coming to the franchise, and announced its cover star, Baltimore Ravens quarterback, Lamar Jackson. The game launches on August 25, 2020.

In a blog post on the EA Sports Madden website, the developer announced its biggest addition to the game, the Skill Stick. The Skill Stick works on both offense with ball carriers and on defense with pass rushers. On offense, players can chain together moves like stopping-on-a-dime, stutter steps, slide-hurdles, and dead leg to get past tacklers. On the defensive, players will be able to chain together pass rush moves and combos to get past blockers. According to EA, the Adaptive AI in Madden 21 is the best that it’s ever been which in turn will require players to expand their strategies.

Face of the Franchise: Rise to Fame is Madden 21’s new playable documentary career mode that sees players take a central character through his career and to the Hall of Fame. And as always, the new season of Madden Team Ultimate brings in new content and all the playbooks in Play Now and Franchise modes have been updated to reflect the current NFL season.
