Divinity: Original Sin 2 will have a Kickstarter just like its predecessor
The successful Kickstarter campaign for Larian Studios’ isometric RPG Divinity: Original Sin proved that there’s still a lot of critical appeal for old-school-style RPG games. Now, in an interesting move, Larian has announced it is returning to Kickstarter to fund the upcoming sequel, Divinity: Original Sin 2.
The first Divinity ended up raising just under $1 million, a wonderful surprise for Larian since the developer only asked for $400,000. Larian promises that the upcoming sequel will be “bigger, better and more engaging” and that fans can actually start voting early on what sorts of Kickstarter rewards they want to see by signing up via the game’s official website. The Kickstarter for Divinity: Original Sin 2 will launch on August 26 so fans don’t have long to wait if they want to contribute.
