Dishonored 2 second game update is now live
Bethesda and Arkane Studios have announced via a press release that the second major update for Dishonored 2 is now live, bringing with it the previously revealed Custom Difficulty and Mission Select features.
In case this is the first you’re hearing of the second Dishonored 2 update, the Custom Difficulty feature allows players to more finely tweak how easy or hard the game is. Also included as part of the Custom Difficulty feature is a new “Iron Mode” difficulty level which is meant for the truly hardcore among the Dishonored 2 player community. As Bethesda explains in the press release:
“Further customize your experience with the more than 20 different sliders to tailor everything from how quickly Sleep Darts take effect to how many active enemies are likely to attack you at once. A special slider is also included in the Custom Difficulty settings for those seeking the ultimate challenge with Iron Mode. Toggle on Iron Mode when starting a new game and, without manual saves or loads, live with the consequences of your actions or face permadeath because of them.”
Along with the Custom Difficulty and Iron Mode options, game update 2 includes the long-awaited Mission Select feature which lets players replay any previously completed missions from their save game profile. When you replay a mission, you’ll only have access to the same items and character powers which you had back when you played the mission for the first time, but if there’s a particular mission you’re fond of or that you’re itching to get a better score for, now you can do so without having to play through the entire game.
Game update 2 for Dishonored 2 is now live on all platforms (Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC) and it should be downloaded automatically the next time you boot up your platform of choice.
