Deus Ex Breach and VR Experience now free-to-play on PC
Square Enix has announced via press release that two side components of Deus Ex: Mankind Divided, Deus Ex: Breach and the Deus Ex VR Experience, are now both free to play on PC via Steam.
Deus Ex: Breach is an arcade-style bonus mode in which players take on the role of a ‘Ripper,’ a covert digital agent who must break into secure networks, extract their data, and escape. Breach allows players to upgrade and customize their Ripper avatar as they venture deeper and deeper into the game’s network of missions and, much like the version which is included with Mankind Divided, the free-to-play version of Breach is supported by optional microtransactions.
As for the Deus Ex VR Experience, it too was originally only available through Mankind Divided but now any Oculus or HTC Vive VR headset owners can download and play the Deus Ex VR Experience entirely for free through Steam. The experience allows VR users to explore several different environments from Mankind Divided in complete immersion and also check out high-res 3D models of the game’s various characters.
The new free-to-play releases of both Breach and the VR experience serve as a prelude to next month’s second story DLC for Mankind Divided which is titled A Criminal Past
