Assassin's Creed Memories now available on iOS devices
The upcoming releases of Assassin's Creed: Unity and Assassin's Creed: Rogue are still a few months away but Ubisoft isn’t making fans wait that long before getting their next Assassin’s Creed fix. In a new partnership with mobile developer PlayNext and mobile social company Gree, Ubisoft has released Assassin's Creed Memories, a new mobile strategy game that allows players to explore iconic franchise settings such as Renaissance Italy and the Golden Age of Piracy as well as brand new historic settings such as Feudal Japan and Imperial Mongolia.
Assassin's Creed Memories combines player vs. environment and player vs. player gameplay into one seamless experience (the PvP component is optional however). Players get to create their own Assassin by picking from one of three different archetypes (Brute, Marksman, or Incognito) and then collect cards to personalize their character’s weapons, armor, and deployable allies. These cards feature weaponry, armor, and characters from both previously-released Assassin’s Creed games as well as more original historic settings which have yet to be featured in console games but which have been mentioned in the game’s fiction.
Players can also venture through various PvE scenarios in which they hunt down iconic targets from previous Assassin’s Creed games, leveling up their character and earning currency which can be used to upgrade their cards along the way. Lastly, players can join various guilds and engage in massive 20 vs. 20 PvP guild battles, utilizing their character’s unique archetype abilities to help secure victory for their guild. The game is free-to-play with optional microtransactions included to help enhance the experience.
Assassin’s Creed Memories is available now for both iPhone and iPad via the iTunes app store.
