Adam Sessler, Kevin Pereira officially rejoin G4 for reboot
For many young gamers in the 2000s, G4 was their introduction to the gaming community, and yes, there are people on TV that love video games as much as them and they like to have lots of fun. The cable channel launched in 2003 and went off the air in 2014.
Last year, it was teased that G4 was on its way back. In November, there was a G4 Reunion featuring members of the original cast like Adam Sessler, Olivia Munn, Kevin Pereira, and Morgan Webb where they reminisced about the high and lows of their shows like X-Play and Attack of the Show. The special also announced that WWE superstar Xavier Woods aka Austin Creed would be one of the hosts on the new G4. Everyone involved in the reunion expressed an interest in participating in the G4 reboot in some form or another, but nothing was officially official until now.
G4 has announced that both Adam Sessler and Kevin Pereira will both be returning, and both will be hosting reboots of their shows, X-Play and Attack of the Show, respectively.
“A lot has changed in the video game industry since my last show at G4 which provides me with all the more topics with which to share my unique – okay, sometimes curmudgeonly – honest takes again with viewers,” Sessler said in a statement. “It really is the perfect time for G4 and X-Play to return and I’m ready to bring back Sessler’s Soapbox, reviews, and opinions on all the news.
“If you told me nine years ago that I’d be returning to G4 in 2021, I’d ask if it would be on an episode of COPS,” added Pereira. “I’m thrilled to be returning home and can’t wait to bring a fresh approach to the epic stunts, poorly conceived comedy sketches, and pop culture commentary that made Attack of the Show! such a phenomenon during its first run.”
G4 also announced a new show, The BLEEP Esports Show hosted by League of Legend broadcasters, Ovilee May and Froskurinn. The show, however, will cover everything esports, not just LOL. On G4’s YouTube and Twitch channels the hosts have already been uploading some content before the network comes back online this summer.
