Acer unveils the new "thinnest laptop in the world" at CES 2018

There’s thin, and then there’s ridiculously thin. At a miniscule 8.98mm thick, the Acer Swift 7 is the thinnest laptop we’ve ever seen.

It’s not just little, it’s also beautiful. The 14-inch touchscreen is almost bezel-less, and the black, aluminum construction adds a modern flair that’s certainly going to turn heads this year at CES 2018.

The Swift 7 is compact, and mighty purdy, but it’s also fairly expensive. It looks like it’s going to go for around $1,699, though that pricing isn’t set in stone.

It’s not cheap, and the lack of a high resolution display or 8th Gen CPU is a bit of a drawback for those looking for power, but with a thickness footprint like this, the premium pricing and more modest hardware is not a huge surprise.

Specs

  • 7th-generation Intel Core i7 processor
  • 1,920x1,080-pixel resolution display
  • Up to 10 hours of battery life
  • 8GB LPDDR3 memory
  • 4G LTE connectivity
  • 14-inch Corning Gorilla Glass touchscreen
  • 256GB of PCIe SSD storage

I know, every year there’s another thinnest laptop ever, but the Acer Swift 7 is an undeniable beauty. The specs might not be mind-blowing, but the design is truly remarkable.

We’re looking forward to getting our hands the Swift 7 in the next few days, so stay tuned for more details.
